Overview
Everest Poker is a medium-sized poker room. It was the first multi-lingual poker room. Their software is available in 16 languages, so non-English speakers will enjoy this aspect of the poker room. They are also very newbie friendly. For example, they include a poker tutorial in their software, the minimum deposit is only $5, and they offer loads of micro-stakes action.
The vast majority of the games played are no-limit hold'em games. If you are interested in no-limit hold'em and/or want a software in a language besides English, it's worth giving this site a try. Only recently did Everest Poker begin spreading Omaha games.
Bonus
Each player that registers with Everest Poker through PokerTips is eligible to receive up to $200 in free bonus money. Use bonus code PTIPS200 to recieve this bonus. This code will replace the current standard welcome bonus of $100.
To work off bonuses, players need to earn "Summit Points". For every 14.28 Summit Points earned, $1 of the bonus is released. Summit Points are earned by being dealt cards in raked hands. For every dollar taken in rake during a hand, players are awarded one summit point.
Any part of this $200 bonus that has not been cleared will expire 30 days after registration. The bonus code will only work for players who sign up at Everest Poker through a link from PokerTips.
The bonus code PTIPS200 must be used INSTEAD of the normal bonus code "WELCOME". The code must be entered within 7 days of registration.
Please note that this bonus is awarded to players regardless of deposit size.
Promotions
Everest Poker's nicest promotion is that they spread single-table tournaments that are free to enter but have real-money payouts. Generally, these payouts are very low, with first-place winning a whopping $.05. Nevertheless, this promotion is very popular, and many people enjoy the chance to win something for nothing.
Everest Poker is running a promotion to make ten players poker pros for a year. This package has a value of $100,000.
Tournaments
For whatever reason, Everest Poker's software isn't exactly tournament-player friendly. In order to view a list of upcoming scheduled tournaments, users have to click on a link to load a page which takes a few seconds. This small hastle doesn't get in the way of the several hundred entrants who frequent their daily guaranteed events. There are often well over one hundred sit-n-gos in play at Everest Poker. However, many of these games feature a buy-in of $1 or less. That said, those hoping to play sit-n-gos with buy-ins up to $100 shouldn't have too long of a wait for action.
Software
Everest Poker's software has its pluses and its minuses. For non-English speakers, it is nice that they offer their software in 16 different languages. It is also nice for newbie players that they offer tutorials on how to play Texas Hold'em and how to use their software.
They recently took a step towards improving their software. The lobby is now much more visually appealing and the game filters are easier to use. They also reduced the size of the chat box and enlarged the presence of the actual poker table itself.
Competition Level
The competition is fairly soft at Everest Poker. Compared to most no-limit games online, this site ranks among the softest. It should be noted that the vast majority of players on this site are from Europe, so most of the action at this site will occur during the evening European time.
Customer Service
They have customer support available in many languages, which is nice. However, they do not offer phone support. All of their customer service is managed through email.
