If your Ipod is as big a part of your life as mine is for me, you've probably considered that it may be good for something other than music once in a while. Games for example. The scrolling wheel control is excellent and really allows games developers to push the boundaries and make some original stuff. Read on to find out what to look for when you are downloading games for your Ipod.

Job 1 when looking for an Ipod game to download is to try to find a trustworthy site first of all. While Apple may claim that their technology is “virus proof”, most home computers sadly aren't, and the sites you may have to frequent to get the Ipod game downloads you want may well have a virus or two. The problem is that sometimes the best place to get these downloads are from the infamous file-sharing sites, and there is mostly no monitoring of these sites. That means that hackers and spammers and other undesirable types will often frequent these sites in the hope of getting their latest viruses and malware out into the world. The trouble is, it's quite and effective strategy on their part, so if you intend to use sites like that to download Ipod games, then make sure your computer security is top notch.

Next up, try and stay legal. You can download a ton of free Ipod games completely legally, as they are designated shareware or freeware or whatever, but you'll also find a few that are copyrighted too. Downloading anything that's copyrighted is totally illegal, which is what causes the big legal battles between the record companies and the filesharing sites. These days, you can find tons of good free stuff in the public domain so there's really no need to start downloading Ipod games that are going to break the law.

Something else to look out for is to make sure you don't get taken by some of the more enterprising download sites. There are quite a few sites out there that will offer you free downloads of games and whatever you want, but as soon as you try and download something, you'll be hit with a membership fee. It's unfortunate but true. The sad part is that quite often it's simply the same stuff you'd be downloading elsewhere, the only difference is that these guys make you pay for it. A sad situation.

Didn't I tell you there was a lot to look out for? Good luck!
