I was reading Dave and his concerns with Support. My most recent issue was more with them not verifying that they actually fixed the problem. I had an issues with error_log file being all over the place. I submitted a ticket (djg-2791556) to investigate and after receiving the “fixed” email, I realized that the site was not not interpreting PHP. If the support person had took the time to verify his/her change they would have picked up on this right away.

Secondly, I noticed that some of my .htaccess files were changed (because I saw the backup files). My original file had PHP5 turned on and when the changes were made they never added that back in.

It just seems that support is getting a little sloppy. Maybe overwhelmed, inexperienced, etc.. I hope this is not going to be the trend with host gator. I do want to point out that I have dealt with some great support personal too.
