Newspaper Journalism Internships in Ecuador

This program provides participants with the invaluable opportunity to work as an intern at one of the major Spanish-language daily newspapers in Quito.

You will work as a journalist alongside one of the full-time staffers: covering news events, writing articles, doing some editing, and taking part in staff meetings. The schedule is generally Monday-Friday from 9-5 with weekends off.

We strongly prefer that participants in this program be either studying or working in the field of journalism. Those applicants are given preference over those without such background.

Additionally, interns in this program must speak at least intermediate Spanish and be able to function in a Spanish-only environment.

For accommodations, interns are placed with local host families. They will provide you with your own room and all meals, and generally include you in family activities.
